Falcons ruckman follows in Fitzpatricks footsteps Minimize

Falcons ruckman Sam Whitehead has followed in the footsteps of former Carlton Premiership captain and current AFL Commissioner Mike Fitzpatrick by representing Oxford in Australian Football.

There are some amazing similarities between the two with both ruckmen standing at 6 foot 4 inches and weighing in at around the 107 kg mark.

After the 2008 International Cup held in Melbourne in September, Sam Whitehead was off to the UK to complete a scholarship at Oxford University. He was pleasantly suprised that he would have the opportunity of representing Oxford against the old foe Cambridge in a game of Australian Football.

Big Sam

The contest between the two fine establishments has been underway for some time with this the 88th clash between the two teams.

Sam Whitehead was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy a brief discussion with Mr Fitzpatrick at the opening function of the International Cup. Lets hope that Sams future can be as reputable as the current commissioners.
