The New Zealand Falcons
The New Zealand Falcons represents the NZAFL as its premier team. The national team is generally selected from the annual National Provincial Championships. The major competition the Falcons are involved with is the International Cup held every three years and in 2006 they were inolved in the Australian Country Championships. They also play against a selection of touring Australian Club teams as well as lead up matches in Australia against club teams in preparation for the major tournaments.
The New Zealand Falcons are the 2005 International Cup winners and 2008 runner up.

New Zealand Under 20's
The New Zealand Under 20 team is selected from the Under 20 National Provincial Championships held in March every year. The team then competes in the Senior NPC against the four regional provinces in October each year.
A programme inovling matches against touring teams as well as International tours is currently under development.
New Zealand Under 16’s
The New Zealand Under 16’s is selected from the Hawks Cup Secondary Schools competition held in the last term each year. The major tournament that the Under 16 team competes in is the “Oceania Tournament” held in December each year.
From the Oceania Tournament, a team is selected to compete in the Australian Under 16 Championships the following year played in July. This tournament is watched closely by scouts from every AFL club.

National Provincial Championships
Representative teams from Auckland, Waikato, Canterbury and Wellington compete not only for national honours but also the chance to represent New Zealand.
Two grades compete for the provincial title.
Under 20 teams are selected from the most talented Under 20 players from the Australian Football Clubs through out New Zealand.
The senior NPC teams are selected from the 16 club sides through out New Zealand.
